With its golden beaches ideal for surfing, swimming, diving or walking, the Central Coast of NSW is a great weekend escape, or an ideal holiday destination.

Only one hour by car north from Sydney, the Central Coast offers you a chance to relax with friends and family exploring the vast waterways of Brisbane Water and Tuggerah Lake, the Brisbane Water, Bouddi and Wyrrabalong national parks, the Ourimbah, Olney and Watagan state forests, Somersby Falls, Calga Springs, Old Sydney Town, the Australian Reptile Park and beautiful sandy beaches.

Gosford is the largest town in the region and hosts a variety of aquatic events such as sailing, water-skiing and jet boats.
Terrigal is a popular beach side resort which offers good surfing beaches, boutique style accommodation, shops and fine restaurants.
The Entrance, further north, is equally famous for its beautiful beach and relaxing family holidays.
Woy Woy, at the southern end of the region, is bordered by the Hawkesbury River, Broken Bay and Brisbane Water and is famed for its oysters. The surrounding area is notable for its picturesque scenery, spectacular lookouts and Aboriginal engraving sites as well as the ocean beaches of Umina, Ettalong and Pearl Beach.
Somewhat north of The Entrance, Toukley is sited on the narrow neck of land which divides Tuggerah and Budgewoi lakes. Lovely parks stretch along much of the foreshore of both lakes.
Further inland, Yarramalong and Dooralong Valley provide a relaxing excursion into rural farmlands.

The Central Coast has large areas of protected bushland to explore. Take a kayak tour along the Hawkesbury River and enjoy the drama of sheer sandstone cliffs and tranquil rainforests, or hire a houseboat and leave the busy world far behind you.

There are endless possibilities on the Central Coast which is why it's such a great holiday destination - abseiling, horse riding, surfing, scuba diving or just relaxing with a good book.

Even if you only stay for a weekend - you won't be in a hurry to leave. The B&Bs of the Central Coast make it even harder to leave!
